The semi-automatic action is the key difference. One 8-shot magazine is used at a time; four magazines provide 32 prepared slots across the set, not 32 shots inside the pistol. Faster flow makes disciplined muzzle direction, trigger-finger placement and magazine handling essential.
.177 pellets: buy the right ammunition
Specifications call for .177-inch (4.5 mm) pellets. Start with a reputable lead diabolo type recommended by the manual. Flat-head wadcutters make clean paper holes; a quality dome is another useful comparison. Buy a modest quantity, confirm reliable magazine rotation and consistency, then standardise.

What 12 g CO₂ changes
The RX Gen 3 uses a 12 g CO₂ cylinder. Temperature and rapid strings affect pressure, so velocity and shot count vary with conditions, pace, capsule, seals and pellets. The current product FAQ's 50–80 shots per cylinder is a planning range, not a guarantee.
Install capsules only as the manual shows; never force the fitting. For an abnormal leak, stop, avoid escaping gas and follow the service instructions. Do not store a pierced cylinder unless the manufacturer permits it.
Magazines: 8 shots × 4
Each magazine accepts eight pellets; four are currently listed. Number them to isolate a recurring feed issue, and protect them from grit or bent edges. Do not reshape or lubricate one without the manual's direction.
Before insertion, use the safety as instructed, keep your finger outside the trigger guard and check pellet orientation. After eight shots, remove and inspect the magazine rather than assuming it is empty.
Performance: set the right expectation
The published figure is up to 400 FPS and about 3 joules. “Up to” is not a promise for every pellet: weight, gas temperature and system condition matter. Stable stance, sight picture, trigger press and a proper target/backstop still determine useful practice.

Maintenance without guesswork
After use, clear the pistol, wipe it dry and remove debris from magazines. Store it away from heat and moisture. Use only manufacturer-specified lubricant and quantity; general oils may harm CO₂ seals, while over-oiling creates problems.
Do not dismantle a valve, probe blindly at a lodged pellet or improvise an O-ring. Record the symptom and magazine, then use the dealer's service route. The RX Gen 3 review adds context; the supplied manual remains authoritative.
Running-cost maths
Using the current Nishana figures as a transparent example—₹550 for five CO₂ cylinders, ₹450 for 300 pellets, and the product-page estimate of 50–80 shots per cylinder—the gas component is about ₹1.38–₹2.20 per shot and the pellet about ₹1.50. Combined, that is roughly ₹2.88–₹3.70 per shot, before shipping, dry-fire loss, rejected pellets or price changes.
About 7–10 cylinders (₹770–₹1,100 at ₹110 each) plus 500 pellets (₹750 at ₹1.50 each). Recalculate using the live prices and the shot count you actually achieve.
The RX should be bought for its magazine-fed CO₂ experience—not because it is the cheapest way to put holes in paper. If the gas budget feels disproportionate to how often you will use that experience, pause before buying.
