Under ₹15,000 — Camstar spring pistols & rifles
The cheapest gateway into airgun ownership. Spring-piston pistols are single-shot but require no gas, no cartridges and no charging equipment — the only running cost is pellets. All models below are Made in India by Camstar Sports (Lucknow / Kanpur), .177 calibre and licence-exempt under Arms Rules 2016.
| Model | Type | Category | Price | Licence? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Camstar Star Leo | Spring pistol · 480 FPS | Air pistol | ₹6,900 | No* |
| Camstar Mauser X Matte | Gen 2 spring pistol | Air pistol | ₹7,999 | No* |

Pick for first-time buyers: the ★ Star Leo (₹6,900). Simplest action, no gas, no charging kit — and the price leaves budget for pellets, a trap and targets. If your first airgun is a rifle, the Star ZXi at ₹11,999 gives full 870 FPS output at the lowest entry price.
₹25,000 — the Camstar Star RX Gen 3 CO₂ semi-auto
India's first CO₂ semi-automatic air pistol. One magazine change is what stops you, not one shot — trigger discipline drills and rapid-fire practice work in a way spring pistols can't support.
| Model | Type | Colour | Price | Licence? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Camstar Star RX Gen 3 | CO₂ semi-auto · 32 rounds boxed | Black | ₹25,000 | No* |
| Camstar Star RX Gen 3 | CO₂ semi-auto · 32 rounds boxed | Coyote Tan | ₹26,000 | No* |
The RX Gen 3 ships as a complete kit: hard case, four 8-round rotary magazines, two 12 g CO₂ capsules, pellet box, holster, cleaning rod, safety pin and manual. Read the full buyer guide or the dated price comparison against seven other Indian sellers.
₹28,999 – ₹31,000 — Camstar PCP rifles
Pre-charged pneumatic rifles need a hand pump or dive-style cylinder to fill the onboard reservoir, but each fill gives roughly 90 consistent shots — you shoot a full session without pumping. The PXi Combo bundles rifle + pump + scope + bag, which is the sensible first PCP purchase because you can shoot the day it arrives.
| Model | What's included | Category | Price | Licence? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Camstar Star PX (PCP) | Rifle only · integrated suppressor · 10-round mag | PCP rifle | ₹28,999 | No* |
| Camstar Star PXi Complete Combo | Rifle + pump + scope + rings + bag | PCP combo | ₹31,000 | No* |
₹36,000 – ₹73,000 — Imported CO₂ steel-BB pistols
The pistols nobody else in India stocks meaningfully. Every model below is a compliant .177 / 4.5 mm steel-BB configuration, muzzle energy well under the 20 J licence-exempt threshold. Read the full imported airgun guide for how these compare to Indian-made options.

What actually decides an air gun's price
Four levers move an airgun's price more than anything else:
Power plant. Spring-piston pistols and rifles are the cheapest to manufacture — a coiled steel spring, a piston, a valve. CO₂ pistols cost more because a metered gas system needs a valve, magazine and CO₂ chamber engineered for consistency. Pre-charged pneumatics (PCP) are the most expensive because the regulated air cylinder alone accounts for a large share of the bill of materials.
Build materials. Full-metal construction, rifled steel barrels, hard blowback slides and adjustable sights raise price versus polymer bodies and smoothbore barrels. The Umarex M92 A1 (₹73,000, full metal, blowback, 1,061 g) sits opposite the Camstar Star Leo (₹6,900, spring, 970 g) — same law, wildly different engineering.
Import chain. Every imported gun carries customs duty, shipping, distributor markup and a smaller Indian dealer margin. An Umarex Beretta 84 FS retails in Germany for roughly €140; the Indian delivered price of ₹72,000 reflects the import chain — not a Nishana mark-up.
Included kit. A "bare pistol" spec sheet reads cheaper than a "kit" spec sheet. The Star RX Gen 3 kit (₹25,000) includes hard case, four magazines, two CO₂ capsules, holster, pellets, cleaning rod and manual. Comparing sticker prices without matching kits is a common way buyers overpay elsewhere.

What's the difference between Camstar and imported airguns?
Camstar is Made in India (Lucknow / Kanpur) — pricing is dealer-direct with no import chain, warranty is serviced locally, and the RX Gen 3 is India's first CO₂ semi-auto. Imported Umarex/ASG/KWC pistols carry customs and distributor cost but bring officially licensed replicas (Beretta 84 FS, M92 A1), select-fire full-auto modes (KWC K18, M92) and hard-blowback engineering nobody in India yet builds.
